"For soft, smooth, lips use brown sugar and a soft toothbrush to exfoliate the lips. Then apply a lip balm before applying lipstick or gloss," Darais, Lancôme Makeup Artist.
Everyone wants a plumper pout and Darais, who's worked on the lips of Ashley Greene, Salma Hayek and Kristen Bell, knows a thing or two about perfecting the pucker. We religiously exfoliate the rest of our skin, so why not do the same for soft, shiny, younger looking lips?

As Darais notes, the process is easy and cost effective. Brown sugar acts as the exfoliant while the toothbrush, used in a circular motion for two to five minutes, acts as the loofah. Just move the toothbrush around your lips like you're brushing your teeth—softly—and you'll have a softer, smoother, plumper pout. If the brown sugar feels too harsh on your lips, add a dollop of Vaseline.
Of course, if you'd rather something pre-packaged you can snag Sara Happ's Lip Scrub online or at Henri Bendel. It comes in seven different flavors—we favor Vanilla Bean—and costs $24.00.
